About DC Blueprint

A data-centre project, from the site to the sale, on dated figures.

DC Blueprint is one product for the people who decide where a data centre goes, what it costs to build and run, and what it is worth when it sells. Every figure carries its date and its source, and the bodies we cite are official ones.

Coverage in numbers

Counted from the datasets each time this page is served. Each figure opens the page that uses it.

What we are for

A data-centre project usually lives in a dozen spreadsheets: one for the site, one for the grid, one for capex, one for running costs, one for the sale. Each starts from different numbers and none of them agrees with the others.

DC Blueprint puts those decisions in one place, on one set of dated European figures, so a site choice carries through to the build budget, the operating cost and the price a buyer or tenant pays. The four steps below are becoming one Plan per project, with each step as a panel you open from it.

What the product does

Four steps of the same project. Each one can be opened free, on example values.

  1. 1 Plan Build your multi-year plan Site, grid, costs, revenue and returns in one case.
  2. 2 Build Design the build and its cost Design, cost and timeline of the build, line by line.
  3. 3 Operate Work out what running it costs Energy, staff, security, services and maintenance, per year.
  4. 4 Sell See what it sells for Price, fill and contract terms, as scenarios.

Who it is for

Executives and technical leads at small operators and developers in Europe: the teams that plan a first or second site, from 1 MW up.

Pages open with the decision and the dated numbers behind it, for the person who signs. The engineering depth sits underneath, for the person who has to make it work.

Method and sources

  • Official bodies first. Grid and power data come from ENTSO-E, Eurostat, national regulators and transmission system operators. Live grid data draw on Energy-Charts.info (Fraunhofer ISE), credited wherever they appear.
  • Projects, operators and prices come from public filings, published tariffs and grid fees, each row with its source and the date we checked it.
  • Examples are labelled as examples. The free view runs on round European example values and real public tariffs; it shows how each step works, not a market estimate.
  • Figures are read on the page, in the tools and through the AI connector. We do not offer our datasets as downloads.

Independence

No vendor, operator or developer pays to appear in a directory, a tracker or a ranking, and none can buy a place in an article.

We accept sponsorship only when a company approaches us, and sponsored material is never presented as editorial.
